There is little understanding of prescription drug abuse involving college students. The current exploratory study examines the factors associated with prescription drug abuse among this specific population. Information collected through focus groups identified themes and patterns associated with types and reasons for abuse, attitudes and perceptions towards harm, and the success and failures of current prevention efforts. Findings from this study provide important information relating to future prevention efforts.
